Should I buy a new or used Chevrolet?
There are many factors that can determine which choice is right for you. Pricing, reliability, warranties, and available features can all be part of the decision-making process. Often times buyers are surprised how reasonably they can drive away in a new vehicle after all the applicable deals and incentives have been applied! At Richard Chevrolet we can work with you to determine which choice will be best for you based on your needs.

Which Chevy model is right for me? There are so many to choose from.
It is important to think about how the vehicle will be used the most and how many people need to be accommodated most of the time. Is the vehicle mostly to commute, or will it be used to travel with children and family? Does it need towing capabilities and/or lots of cargo space? If you are looking for a smaller vehicle for commuting or you don’t carry many people with you every day, a crossover SUV like the Chevy Trax, Equinox, or Trailblazer might be a good choice. If you need towing capabilities, a Silverado 1500 might be your best bet. If you are carrying around the family with lots of school and sporting equipment then a Chevy Traverse, Tahoe, or Suburban might be the right fit depending on the size of your family and cargo needs. Luckily, Richard Chevrolet carries models to satisfy all your needs, and have Vehicle Specialists here to help you determine the best option for you.

Most recently, our Chevy Tahoe received the 2026 JD Power Most Dependable Large SUV for the fourth year in a row and the Chevrolet Equinox won the 2026 JD Power Most Dependable Compact SUV Award!

Should I lease or buy my Chevrolet?

Depending on your personal situation, one may be a better option for you than the other. At Richard Chevrolet we have Business Managers available to sit with you to determine which option works best for you. What is the difference between AWD and 4WD?
All-wheel-drive automatically distributes power equally to all 4 wheels of the vehicle all the time. AWD is ideal for everyday driving in varied conditions. On the other hand, four-wheel-drive generally requires manual engagement and provides maximum power to all four wheels for serious off-roading, towing, or extreme weather. Often SUVs used to transport families or for commuting will offer AWD, while work trucks may offer 4WD.

Electric Vehicle FAQs

How far can I drive an EV?
The distance that an EV vehicle can go on a single charge varies depending on a number of factors including the vehicle model and battery size, whether the vehicle is AWD or FWD, weather, driving speeds, and more.  However, typically, the Silverado EV can get up to 490 miles, Blazer EV RS RWD up to 334 miles, Equinox EV FWD up to 319 miles, and the Bolt approximately 259 miles.

How long does an EV take to charge?
Chevy electric vehicles are capable of charging with Superchargers significantly cutting down charging times.  It also opens up access to over 17,800 Superchargers throughout North American making finding charging stations easier than ever.  Exact charging times vary based on the charging method, but generally with a Supercharger/DC Fast Charger a Chevy EV could be significantly charged in 30-40 minutes.

What will my savings really be with an electric vehicle?
Savings will vary, but Richard Chevrolet provides estimated savings right on our website for each Chevrolet EV so you can see before you buy!  It calculates estimated fuel savings based on your usage over a 2-, 3-, and 5-year period, shows the EV rebates available at the time, and provides a charging map with chargers in your area! All you have to do is visit richardchevy.com and view the Blazer, Equinox, Silverado, or Bolt of your choice to see what your potential savings could be!

How will I know where to charge my Chevrolet EV?
Our Chevy EV’s have Google Maps built into our infotainment system.  You simply access Google Maps on the screen, and hit the charging station icon in the upper left corner, and charging stations in your area appear on the map! Simply click on the closest station and Maps will direct you there and show you restaurants and shops in the area for while you wait.  Click here for a video instruction from our own Richard Chevrolet Vehicle Specialist

Service FAQs

How often should I change my oil?
Generally, if you are using synthetic oil and have average wear-and-tear on your vehicle, you can go about 7,500-10,000 miles.  Otherwise, it is recommended that you get an oil change every 5,000-7,500 miles.  However, it is important to speak with your vehicle’s service department about what is best for your specific car and driving patterns.  Different factors such as weather and driving conditions/patterns can impact how often oil should be changed.  Changing your oil is important because it lubricates moving parts, reduces engine friction, and absorbs intense heat.  Degraded oil can seriously harm your engine.  Schedule an oil change

Why do I need to rotate my tires?
Rotating tires regularly generally extends the lifespan of your tires.  Tires tend to wear unevenly, with front tires wearing more than rear.  This is due to the weight distribution of most vehicles as well as steering.  Rotating the tires allows the 4 tires to get worn more evenly which maintains optimal traction and prevents the owner from having to replace the tires prematurely.  Learn more about tire maintenance here

What does a check engine light mean?
A check engine light is your car’s way of letting you know that it has detected an issue with either the engine, transmission, or emission system.  Usually, if the light blinks or is flashing, that indicates a more serious issue than a steady light. Regardless, if your check engine light comes on, it is highly recommended that you bring your vehicle in to be checked as soon as possible to avoid further damage, complications, or unsafe driving conditions. Where can I take my vehicle after an accident?
You are entitled to take your vehicle to be repaired to the shop of your choice-it is NOT up to the insurance company.  When making that decision, it is wise to not only consider the least expensive shop.  You should choose a collision center that is certified for your specific vehicle to ensure that repairs are done properly and with the vehicles continued proper performance and safety standards intact. What are OEM vs. Aftermarket parts?
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts come directly from your vehicle's maker.
Aftermarket parts are made by third-party companies. Your insurance may dictate which type they will pay for, but generally, OEM parts are best because they maintain the structural integrity and quality as those that were originally factory-installed.  Learn more

Will the paint match the rest of my car?

What is I-Car certification and why does it matter?
Body shops that have I-Car certification means that the technicians have passed rigorous safety and training standards, and are held to specific standards to ensure they are up-to-date on each repair technique they perform.  It is highly recommended that you work with certified repair technicians, and Richard Chevrolet is a Gold Class I-Car certified body shop.
